Here's something interesting about me :
IT Recruitment Professional who is constantly striving to increase my knowledge of Software Development and Development Processes in order to better serve my Clients and Candidates. As I enhance my knowledge of process and development languages, I may better serve to evangelize development methodologies. I am interested in learning about application development, especially C# and I would love any advice people could offer about how a novice like myself could increase my knowledge base. Feel free to call me on my direct dial 212-204-1025 with comments or questions.

anyways reading books depends on how much time you have and your patience to read :)

well i'm not aware of any websites that gives some proper tutorials ( sure there are many websites, but one will get fustrated by jumping from links to links only to find that you have lost your way).
i depend on books rather than any websites...I haven't come across any websites that gives comprehensive knowledge on development. but if i do i will sure let you know.

meanwhile http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/ might be useful . it provides some tutorials and live chats with programming experts ( atleast thats what they say- so they should be able to help you ).. i'm not sure how good the tutorials are.

' Sams Teach Yourself ' books are also quite good..it costs around $20 on amazon or check your local library ( which i depend on)...

if you are planning to learn the basics you might like the ' The Complete Reference : C++ ' by Herbert Schildt. definitely there are many other good books but i found this one useful for quick learning...hope it might be useful for you
